Shades of teal from aqua to turquoise will rise in popularity in 2006. Watery shades of teal, often associated with the ocean, can convey a message of optimism and tranquility, while darker teals communicate youthful energy.

Blue green gems are an asset to spring and summer wardrobes and transition nicely into fall. As a cool color, you can create a contrasting look by combining gems like Turquoise or Blue Zircon with the warmer colored clothes in their wardrobe this spring such as beige or orange. Lighter shades of teal-hued accessories complement red heads and blondes, while darker teals such as Teal Diffused Topaz or Color Enhanced Blue Diamond look great against brown or tanned skin. Keep these hints in mind when you are looking for a refreshing colored gem or diamond.

Have you been watching the gold market? Gold hit $562.00 per ounce today which is a twenty-five year peak.
Gold has risen for a number of reasons:

• Central banks, especially in Asia, are buying to diversify their reserves beyond dollars and euros.

• Concern about inflation has risen in recent years along with energy prices and US government budget deficits.

• Investors globally have "excess liquidity," lots of cash, driving up the price of virtually every asset, including gold.

• In addition to rising demand from investors, demand for gold has been rising for use in jewelry and as a status symbol in prospering Asian nations.

Below is a chart showing gold's movement in the past 5 years.
